I was so eager to go and dispense justice that I almost didn't notice the deputy mentioning off the cuff that I somehow needed to go and report in to Marshal Mcbride. Not wanting to overstep my boundaries I immediately ran to the chapel and reported for my duties. I was slightly disappointed when I found out that I was not to immediately engage the bigger threat to the city, but was to somehow go and clear out the surrounding area of the kobold infestation. They had somehow established a small base out of a mine shaft called Echo Ridge, not far from the abbey, and needed to be routed out. Oh well, orders are orders and after all I would still get an opportunity to test my mettle against these evil vermin.
After a few forays to Echo Ridge, I returned somewhat sullen to McBride, and shared with him how disappointed I was that my efforts at thinning the ranks of the kobolds seemed somewhat fruitless as more and more of them kept on coming out of the woodwork. He told me not to worry about it and focus on the Defias threat, and leave the vermin to newer recruits. Encouraged by his words I headed east to the Osworth vineyards to investigate the ruffians. After smashing a few heads in, I discovered that they were led by a burly miscreant named Garrick. After getting approval from Deputy Willem, I headed back to Garrick's hideout and called him out. I told him not to resist arrest, or he would get a taste of my holy wrath. He laughed at my face and came at me with two of his accomplices. I dealt swift justice and returned to Deputy Willem with evidence of justice being done. Sadly enough, we were not able to learn anything more about the Defias Brotherhood, which is probably why Marshal McBride sent me over to Goldshire to Marshal Dughan.
Surely he or someone in Goldshire would likely know something about this mysterious brotherhood...
